this is the first sketch of the seated nude charming her bees. My next step will be to approximate this image on a block of finely finished cherry and begin carving.

Salt Chuck Mary Presents: The Poppy Women.

This series of prints was first conceived in graphite, then as etchings in copper and now as woodcuts. The story began as a tongue in cheek observation of where feminism has gotten us. The idea began simply enough with women as receptacles, as ornaments, as background pleasantries. These prints are going to be some of my most ambitious and my intention is to document the evolution of them and of the concepts attached to them as I progress.
